My Story

Hello!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

98pc of all Barretstown's funding comes from the public - and like everyone else, their recent fundraising efforts have been impacted by Covid.

While I have no personal connection to Barretstown, I have always been an admirer of what they do. Looking after sick children and their families - especially their siblings - during the worst time in any family's life is a very important thing to do. I've been lucky enough to visit their camp recently as part of the Healthy Hands initiative - and got to see what lies in store for the families when they visit Barretstown.

The last time I walked for Barretstown, it was during the first lockdown and I had to stick to a 5km radius. I was also six months pregnant!

16 months later, I've been out getting out walking with my 12 month old doing long(ish) treks with his buggy at the weekends - he's just loving all the fresh air! I'm not going to find this easy - but I do love a challenge! This time around, I also get to do it as part of the DCU team.

Anyway, the main point of this message is to raise money for Barretstown - funds raised go towards giving sick children and their families the opportunity to forget about their illness for a short time, and let them be kids. I can't think of anything better - so please donate what you can! And spread the word!

In the meantime, I'll be doing brisk walks (with and without a buggy) whenever I can!

Thank you!
